Description

Almost every Mustang driver knows this simple truth: You drive a little faster and the hood starts to flutter at the front. It's not a big deal, you get used to it over time, but it certainly doesn't inspire confidence. After all who wants their hood to fly open at high speed on the motorway or on track? No one, that's who....

Nevertheless, there are ways to counteract hood flutter:

1. Adjust the hood correctly

2. Align the hood lock and stops

3. Retrofitting the Steeda 555-0687 hood lift

4. Add Steeda hood pins type kit - 480-3037

5. Installing the Fiege Performance Hood Seal Kit

Fiege Performance have now developed the Hood Seal Kit for both Gen 6 (S550) and Gen 7 (S650), with the kit deploying spacers placed under the hood and which serve as supports for the hood.

What does the kit do and what does it include?

The Hood Seal Kit effectively reduces airflow between the headlights and the hood and provides the hood with additional stops/support points for reinforcement.

We offer three sets for the original Ford production hood: Select from options above

S550 2015-2017

S550 2018-2023

S650 2024 + subsequent models

The sets include sealing strips for the headlights, stops, and protective films to prevent paint damage. The stops are 3D printed from TPU rubber filament, which reduces and dampens the vibrations of the hood.

Please watch the installation videos on YouTube linked here int he gallery above to see the correct installation positions for the stops.

The kit for the S650 2024+ model is a little more complex, as the height of the hood stop rubber can be adjusted using shims. Please carefully adjust to the correct measurement to ensure that no damage is caused to the vehicle during installation.

Attention! The following applies to all kits: When closing the hood for the first time, close it slowly and check the fit of the stops.

The hood cannot be secured 100%, but the above suggestions will greatly improve the situation.
